Geez, there goes another sf date passing. First 1984 (I'm old, OK?), then 1990 (UFO), 1999, then 2001 and now 2010 … and still no flying cars.
I made contact with that movie once. Once.
we won't get flying cars until we all learn how to use the non-flying ones safely and responsibly… namely, never.

ahem, TWO F-Chords characters. You must not have recognized Wade since he's doing the whole Geordi Laforge thing.
Sadly, "Forbidden Planet" seems to have a more accurate prediction of our capability for advanced spaceflight. Made in 1957, it predicts a moon landing by 2100 and interstellar flight by 2200 with movie being set in 2259. Granted, Apollo 11 was in 1969, but we haven't really done anything with it, so 2100 for something meaningful sounds about right.

does anybody know in which cartoon jinx ponders his dream about being vanquished by some weird insect lifecycle thingy then is asked by beam about his nightmare and jinx then retorts "nightmare?"
