I’m at C2E2, the new Chicago pop culture and comic show, this coming weekend April 16 to 18! It’s the first time I’ve ever been to Chicago. I had a stopover once at O’Hare, years and years ago, and I’ll be honest — because my flight gate got changed to the far end of the airport, I ran and ran and almost missed it, and it made me sour on Chicago a little. I hate to say that, having not seen anything but the insides of the airport for about 25 minutes. I have a feeling this weekend will obliterate that memory.

I’ll be there with Brad Guigar and Scott Kurtz, my bros from another mo. We’ll have Blamimation posters and I’ll have the Lazy Cat poster that debuted at PAX East a few weeks back. It’ll be great! Plus, Canada — watch out for the whole Halfpixel squad (Dave included) in TWO weeks at the Calgary Comic Expo! See you guys soon!

I really liked District 9, and particularly the sad sack main character Wikus van de Merwe. So even though I don’t really get a charge out of the subject matter, I think this is super great:

Saturday and Sunday I will not be in America, but Canada, in my first and only visit there this year! I’ll be at booth 502 at the Calgary Entertainment Expo with my Halfpixel buds Dave Kellett and Brad Guigar. We’ll also be doing a panel Sunday at 1pm!

I’ll have all my books, but as my appearances in Canada are exceedingly rare, I thought it would be nice to do something different for Calgarites, so I’ll be doing all kinds of commission sketches at the show! I went out and bought bristol and shading markers today just for the purpose. This is your opportunity to lord it over all those Americans who can’t get me to lift a pen at a con. I consider Canadians my friends. It’s not just because I want political asylum!
